With a decade of experience and a passion for the baking arts, Hecho Por Penelope delves into the different flavor possibilities. Adding a twist on Hispanic staples; scratch made pastries and treats.

I’m Yolexi, the owner of Hecho Por Penelope.

As a first-generation Mexican American and having a passion for the culinary arts, I wanted to turn my dream of having a bakery into a reality. I hope to share my creations with the community while connecting to my Hispanic roots. The marranitos, galletas grageas, polvorones, etc taste just like the cookies I had growing up. After tweaking my recipes, I got that flavor I was looking for and I can’t wait for y'all to try it!

I sat on starting my own business for 9 years because it was never the right time or it didn't feel like the right time. But honestly, when will it ever be? I just decided to jump in and do it scared. One of my blocks was coming up with a name, and I landed on Hecho Por Penelope.

The business was named in memory of my child. I came up with this name because I wanted their memory to live on. In every speck of flour, in every sprinkle of sugar, I dedicate to them.
